Pete Keane & Tom Hargis Win 2015 AMGA Awards

During our Annual Meeting, at the Main Event, we announced the 2015 recipients for the AMGA Awards. Tom Hargis received the Lifetime Achievement in Mountain Guiding Award and Pete Keane received the Outstanding Guide Award. Kiitella_AMGA2014_650Congratulations to the both of them!

2015 Lifetime Achievement in Mountain Guiding Award – Tom Hargis

Criteria for Award:
The Lifetime Achievement in Mountain Guiding Award recognizes and honors outstanding Americans, who, by their efforts over a period of years, have made contributions of significant value to the mountain guiding profession. Their extraordinary dedication reflects highest credit upon themselves, the AMGA and the United States of America.

  • Be a citizen of the United States, who, for at least 30 years, has been actively identified with mountain guiding and has made contributions of significant value to the mountain guiding profession;
  • Have exhibited qualities of loyalty, integrity, and moral courage worthy of emulation; and
  • Be known as a person of ability and character.

 

2015 AMGA Outstanding Guide Award – Pete Keane

Criteria for Award:
The AMGA Outstanding Guide Award is awarded annually for the most outstanding mountain guiding achievement in the profession of mountain guiding for the year.

  • Be an individual, who has made an outstanding contribution or achievement of significant value to the mountain guiding profession in the year;
  • Have exhibited qualities of loyalty, integrity, and moral courage worthy of emulation;
  • Be a member of the American Mountain Guides Association; and
  • Be known as a person of ability and character.
