GORE-TEX® Scholarship

This scholarship funded by GORE-TEX® in cooperation with the AMGA is a great opportunity for a working professional guide to advance his/her guiding career. GORE-TEX® and AMGA are proud to team up to offer a qualified candidate full tuition towards an AMGA Course or Exam. This is a wonderful opportunity to further your education and we look forward to receiving all of your applications.

Criteria for application

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide funding for the continuing education of a qualified professional guide. The successful applicant is a guide who:

• Is a current member of the AMGA
• Is currently enrolled in the Course/Exam to which the scholarship will be applied
• Has a minimum of 3 years guiding professionally and is continuing to pursue guiding as a profession
• Is seeking to better his/her guiding skills through educational courses and/or exams
• Will provide a 250-word (minimum) testimonial describing your Program experience and how the scholarship/scholarship sponsor contributed to the experience.
• At least five (5) photographs taken during the Program.
• At least one (1) video taken during the Program. We ask that you upload your video(s) to YouTube and provide us with the link.
• Will participate in three mutually agreed upon events, during the period of 04/01/11–12/31/11. An event is considered a minimum four-hour time commitment. Events include, but are not limited to, climbing demonstrations, clinics, time spent at trade shows discussing products, and store visits.
