Brief Bio
My name is Larry and I am an aspiring mountain guide based in Bishop, California. I grew up on the New Jersey shore as a surfer, snowboarder, and an active member of the Boy Scouts of America where I spent my time exploring and leading my friends on backpacking trips throughout the Northeast. For college, I moved to Boulder, CO to study a degree in Environmental Studies and a degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Circulation, with the aspirations to be a climate scientist. This track changed when I received an offer to intern as a guide on multi-day backpacking, canoeing, and mountain climbing trips throughout Interior Alaska. After graduating, I made the move up to Alaska where I spent the greater part of two years guiding and exploring the Great White North. Eventually, encouraged by a combination of the global pandemic, as well as year round rock climbing, I moved my base to California. Here I have stayed working as a backpacking guide for the Sierra Mountain Center, spending the snowless seasons working and climbing, and the colder months backcountry snowboarding.
