Brief Bio
Terray Sylvester has pursued mountain sports for more than 30 years. Originally from the Lake Tahoe area of California, he grew up rock climbing and skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains with his father, Rick Sylvester. Terray has climbed throughout the U.S. and abroad. He has guided in South America and Nepal, and currently works mainly in the Pacific Northwest, where he looks forward to each opportunity to share his passion for the mountains with his guests. Terray lives in Hood River, Oregon, which also serves as a base for his other job as a photojournalist. His images and articles have appeared in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Newsweek and other publications. While guiding, he loves to capture photos for his clients and help them bring back compelling images of their own.
