Brief Bio
I am a guide, climber, and PhD student currently studying and working based out of Cornell University. I have been climbing for 8 years, having established first ascents on Himalayan walls up to 5.13, V10, grade IV, and WI5. I made the first repeat of the Snow Leopard WI6+ in the Himalaya. My favorite areas in the U.S. are Mill Creek, UT, Eldorado Canyon, CO, and Mt. Hooker, WY. My scholarly work explores the relationship between labor and environment in the mountains, tracing the ways transformations of rock (infrastructure and landslides) invisiblize some forms of labor. My achievements include the Fulbright Scholarship, the Boren scholarship, a bachelor's degree in postcolonial environmental studies from Princeton University, the rank of Eagle Scout, and a black belt in the Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do. I speak Hindi/Urdu, and am learning Nepali and Russian. Currently I guide custom skill development and expeditions in the US and India, and instruct climbing for Cornell University.
