    Brief Bio
Currently, Eric only guides for friends, ex-clients, and their kids. He loves to teach and share his love and respect for the mountains and the alpine environment. Eric learned to climb in the barren flatlands of Michigan, summiting mighty 25 foot cliffs repeatedly and dreaming of better things. He did his first serious climbing training in Europe in the mid-1990's, during a few pivotal weeks in the Dolomites of Italy and Chamonix, France. He then moved to Seattle, WA and partook of the climbing and learning opportunities there on an occasional basis, devoting his primary energies to his career in software development and business management. His climbing experience therefore spans decades but is relatively modest. He has led or co-led ascents of the Matterhorn, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Hood, and various rock & alpine routes in the central cascade mountains in all seasons and conditions. He's comfortable leading 5.9, WI 3, Alpine grade V, Euro D. He most enjoys climbing moderate routes with friends, recreational winter camping with his daughter, and is grateful to spend any day in the mountains, regardless of conditions or outcome. (a helpful attitude in Seattle). These days, he spends most of his time teaching kids to code computers at the company he founded, Creative Coding 4 Kids, but mixed multi-pitch Alpine climbing in winter is his favorite type of climbing, so, weirdly, he always looks forward to the end of summer.
    Fun Fact
I'm also an avid caver. I'm particulary fond of multi-day underground trips into Fisher Ridge Cave in Kentucky
