    Brief Bio
Bob Carmichael was one of the early 1970's pioneers in creating documentaries on climbing. His film Break on Through with a sound track by Tommy Bolin showcased Roger Briggs and Duncan Furguson climbing the Naked Edge in Eldorado Canyon. His next for ABC Sports showcased the 3rd Ascent of the Titan by a man and a women climbing team. First Ascent was another of his climbing films that followed 20 year old Lynn Hill and Beth Bennett up the Naked Edge for it's first all women free ascent. Outside the Arena for PBS showcased Roger Brigg and Kevin Donald climbing the Diamond. Greg Lowe and Bob Carmichael then made the first extreme ski film while ascending and skiing down the Grand Teton. Team partnered with Jeff Lowe to produce the first SnowBird International Climbing Championships. Bob was Director of Photography for CBS on that event as well. From his early climbing films Carmichael went onto direct National Spots and 2nd unit Feature film productions, including the title sequence for Star Trek 5. Bob is an Academy Award nominated, Emmy Award winning director/cameraman with his own studio in Boulder, Colorado. Bob started climbing in 1968 in Eldorado Springs while attending the University of Colorado. Bob is also a certified Ski Instructor, enthusiastic SUP boarder, sailor and cyclist. He has two children Annie Lappe and Jesse Carmichael.
