    Brief Bio
I am a climbing and backcountry skills practitioner with a genuine love for the outdoors. I was raised in the Catskill Mountains of New York where I learned to navigate mountain terrain as well as the white waters of the Esopus River. In my early twenties I received formal training in: back country rescue, first aid and every facet of mountaineering, alpine avalanche assessment and all sub disciplines included under the professional rock climbing hierarchy through the National Outdoor Leadership School. Upon graduation in 1992 I continued to practice all achieved skills in West Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Colorado, Wyoming, California, Utah and Washington State. I hold an achedemic BFA degree and am currently seeking a SPI AMGA certification. Upon completion I will be available to instruct first time and intermediate rock climbers. As an instructor I will guide my students to attain the necessary skills needed to enjoy terrain scaled to fit under the AMGA Scope Of Practices for single pitch instruction. This approach will provide them with the assurance and maximum enjoyment that they are seeking as rock climbers. It is my personal belief and duty to convey that the thrill of obtaining the higher ground for instructor and student alike should always be teathered to a framework that ensures the absolute maximum of safety available.
