Brief Bio
I began rock climbing at the age of 15 years old, where I grew up in the Adirondacks of upstate New York. Upon graduating High School, I enlisted in the United States Army, and was stationed in interior Alaska for many years. Assigned to a light infantry unit, I began the finite details of cold weather operations such as sustainability, cold weather injury prevention and treatment and mobility. Later assigned to a military mountaineering unit, I excelled at cold weather, military mountaineering, as well as glacier and alpine mountaineering, becoming a senior instructor very quickly. Instructing and mentoring all walks of life has exposed me to several various teaching methods and helped to understand topics inside and out. I was transferred out of Alaska, but returned when my enlistment was over and now work for the same school educating Soldiers in rock climbing, alpining, glacier mountaineering and skiing. I joined the AMGA a number of years ago and it has provided me with evolving education, and wonderful opportunities for professional development. I have many more details, just ask!
