    Brief Bio
The outdoors, and outdoor adventure have been an essential part of my life from the day I was born. I grew up in a very active family and spent most of my childhood weekends outside hiking and camping. I had my first taste of rock climbing when I was 16, when a friend and I decided that we needed to try a new sport. So we split the cost of basic top roping equipment, joined a climbing gym, bought some books, and learned how to climb and top rope. That basic experience launched me rapidly in to a life long passion.  In college, a few years later, I got involved with an outdoor adventure program and guiding company and began greatly increasing my climbing skill and experience, as I began traveling throughout the country on climbing trips to places like the Gunks and Red Rock Canyon.  I had gone from a teenager dabbling in the sport, to a my first multi-pitch trad route…High Exposure at the Gunks in the middle of December my Sophomore year. I always liked to push myself! Over the next 4 years, I eventually began teaching my own trad climbing classes, taking groups top roping, and guiding various trips on behalf of Quest throughout the USA. I switched my major to Outdoor Leadership as well. By my Junior year, I was a senior rock climbing guide, and also began guiding for ice climbing and kayaking as well. After college, I moved to North Carolina, where eventually I started up my own climbing guiding service. while working another job, called Ascent Adventure Consultants. I gained guiding permits for most of North Carolina, and we grew a substantial business based out of Raleigh. With Ascent Adventure Consultants, I taught numerous gym-to-crag classes through partnerships with local gyms, guided climbing trips and skill building classes throughout North Carolina and the USA, and even guided international trips through partnerships with local guide services. At this point in my climbing career, I climb 2-3 days per week, am consistently climbing 5.10b trad, 5.11 sport, A2 Aid, and have fallen in love with rope soloing as well! My goal is to free the Nose on El Cap in a day!
    Fun Fact
I also love writing music on my guitar, as well as cooking an inventing new recipes!
