Giro Sport Design, the industry leader in progressive snow helmet and goggle technologies, is proud to announce its partnership with the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) Ski Guide Instructor Team as the official helmet sponsor for the 2015/2016 winter season.
The partnership not only supports the safety and success of the AMGA Ski Guide Instructor Team, but it also enhances the Giro brand presence in the backcountry while also providing valuable feedback to the Giro Snow Development Team from professional guides in the field.
AMGA’s professional guides interact directly with 700,000+ aspiring adventurers every year and its membership base continues to grow over 10% annually. The AMGA Ski Guide Instructor Team promotes responsibility, safety, and stewardship while being in the mountains. As custodians of the process, its vital that the guides are protected and lead by example in demonstrating the importance of head protection. In exchange, AMGA will be able to provide Giro with critical on mountain feedback on how to optimize helmet products for backcountry use, a product category that is seeing increased interest from consumers. AMGA students and association members will also have the ability to purchase Giro products at discounted rates. This will help get Giro helmets on those in training to be future mountain guides and on influential top-notch riders
Maximizing experience in the mountains with top notch, dedicated skiers and riders is how Giro has developed innovative new products like the Range MIPS. The flagship MIPS helmet has a revolutionary new design, utilizing a 2-piece shell and truly integrated fit system to create an adaptive fit helmet with Conform Fit Technology that literally forms to every rider’s head shape by expanding and contracting with the turn of a dial. The Range’s durable yet semi-flexible construction wraps around the head to provide the lowest-profile fit Giro has ever created and is unsurpassed in fit and comfort, making it an ideal backcountry companion.
“AMGA and Giro both share the same deep passion for the mountains, snow, exploring, and most importantly enjoying these things as safely as possible,” said Brendan Murphey, Sr. Giro Brand Manager. “AMGA represents the top-tier of core backcountry users & guides – we look forward to their insightful feedback for our research and development teams; all with the end goal of creating new ideas and products that enhance the ride and people’s experience in the mountains. We look forward to a long partnership.”
“The AMGA instructor team is very excited to partner with Giro, a company that has been innovating and providing safer helmets for over 30 years!” said Dale Remsberg, Technical Director at AMGA. “As our sports become faster and more dynamic our safety gear needs to keep up and Giro is a company that is up to that challenge.”
