SOAR Act Reintroduced in 117th Congress

The Simplifying Outdoor Access for Recreation Act (SOAR Act) has made a strong start in the 117th session of Congress. The bill was quickly reintroduced in the U.S. Senate by Senators Martin Heinrich (D-NM) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), and in the U.S. House of Representatives by Representative Joe Neguse (D-CO2). Shortly after reintroduction, the bill was the subject of a legislative hearing in the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands. You can read the AMGA testimony on the hearing or visit the Subcommittee’s YouTube page to watch a recording of the hearing. The rapid reintroduction of the bill and early hearing are strong signs of support for the SOAR Act. The AMGA will continue to advocate for swift passage of the bill in the 117th Congress.
