USFS Special Uses Webinar

Are you interested in providing guided climbing or skiing experiences for the public on Forest Service land? The USFS Special Uses Webinar will provide you with helpful information about the USFS recreation special uses program. You will learn how to submit a proposal and navigate the application process to obtain a special use authorization for guided activities on Forest Service land. The recently released USFS Recreation Special Uses Guide will serve as the outline for the presentation. The webinar will be presented by Ben Johnson, Team Lead for the USDA Forest Service national recreation special uses program.

He provides oversight and coordination of permitting policy and he supports National Forests around the country. Before his tenure with the Forest Service, Ben worked as a professional climbing and canyoneering guide in North Carolina, Texas, Minnesota and Utah. He currently lives in Bellingham, WA.
