AMGA Comments on Climbing Management Plans

As visitation levels have been increasing at climbing areas across the country, more land managers are taking steps to create a climbing management plan (CMP). A CMP outlines how climbing resources will be managed and often covers topics such as fixed anchors, access trails, parking, and commercial use. The AMGA Advocacy Department recently submitted comment letters on three CMPs currently underway at Tensleep Canyon, WY; Eldorado Canyon State Park, CO; and Joshua Tree National Park, CA. The AMGA will continue to track the development of these climbing management plans and advocate on behalf of the guiding community.
