Sweater Chalet is the exclusive reseller of Dachstein Woolwear (DW), featuring mittens, gloves, socks, watch caps, and sweaters made by a small family of knitters in the Dachstein Mountains of Austria who use only 100% organic Austrian boiled wool, made in a weave so dense it’s almost water proof.   Our world famous “Dachstein Mitts” have been used by expeditioners to climb many famous mountains, like K-2, Everest, Denali and more commonly by men and women walking their dogs on a freezing cold winter night”. says. Rick Vogt, owner of Sweater Chalet .

For select certified AMGA guides, Sweater Chalet will also offer complimentary product for those who want to try DW for physically demanding trips in extreme cold environs and tell us about it. “We are pleased to support small family businesses in making an organic product in small high quality almost handmade batches, “said Dana Richardson, strategic partnerships manager for AMGA.

“Wool is a breathable fiber that provides instant warmth regulating itself to individual body temperature.  Wool is warm in winter, cool in summer. Scientifically, in cold temperatures, wool wicks moisture from the skin, while at the same time, its insulating qualities trap dry air and warmth.”, says Rick Vogt, owner of Sweater Chalet  “and we know staying warm is important to all AMGA members who can now have an extreme warm experience with Dachstein Woolwear.”
