Mountain Conditions Report Announcement and Launch

To all AMGA Members,

We are excited to announce that the AMGA, in partnership with Arc’teryx and the ACMG, have launched a totally redesigned Mountain Conditions Report website that is now LIVE. This collaboration has enabled us to build a new, easy to navigate web experience that will allow guides to easily create, upload, and publish condition reports to the public website. The goal is to have a platform that displays a broad coverage of reports across North America, depicting seasonally relevant reports for all access areas.

As many AMGA members know, the MCR has been an integral part of the Canadian Guide Culture, and we hope it will substitute and replace the email based regional info ex forums that have been utilized across the U.S. With filters and regional support, the MCR will be the new standard for guide-to-guide and guide-to-public information sharing. AMGA posts can only be generated by current AMGA members.

Some of the new key features include:

  • Interactive map
  • Search filters by report type and text search
  • Restricted guide log-in area
  • Enhanced guide profile page; designed to include both personal and professional contact information
  • Mobile/Tablet optimized viewing

As a professional, the MCR site will allow AMGA guides to upload detailed trip reports with accurate geo location data to highlight real time conditions for its users.

The success of the MCR program relies on our guide’s engagement. Now that the site is live, we encourage you to visit www.mountainconditions.com and create a profile.

Follow this step-by-step process to create an account. Guides will be authenticated by the AMGA prior to profiles being created, which may take up to 48hrs. Once you receive an authentication email, you can log in, create a profile, and start posting reports.
